Fostering partnerships and collaboration
Partnerships are essential for WHO to accomplish its mandated work. WHO/Europe collaborates with many institutions that support public health efforts and yield broad benefits to Member States.
The CPA Division advises WHO/Europe and facilitates relationship-building and ongoing cooperation with key health partners such as:
- United Nations agencies and other intergovernmental organizations
- regional organizations
- health partnerships
- networks
- non-State actors
- WHO collaborating centres.
The Division also establishes and maintains strategic partnerships to deliver the WHO European Programme of Work, the WHO General Programme of Work and the Sustainable Development Goals by:
- advising on WHO/Europe’s external partnerships, including through the Framework of Engagement with Non-State Actors;
- maintaining and strengthening working relations with partners through regular meetings, discussions and agreements; and
- hosting the secretariats of WHO collaborating centres in the Region and the Youth4Health initiative and network.
