Kathmandu, Bagmati province – As part of WHO’s support to strengthen cholera outbreak response in Birgunj, Dr Rajesh Pandav, WHO Representative to Nepal, handed over a cholera kit (Central Reference Kit) to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in the presence of Health Minister Pradip Paudel. The kit contains essential medicines, renewable medical supplies, diagnostic tools, and logistics support materials, ensuring comprehensive support for cholera case management, and is designed to provide treatment for up to 100 patients. In line with MoHP’s request, WHO Nepal will also facilitate the transfer of the kit to Narayani Hospital in Birgunj, Madhesh Province to make essential supplies available promptly at the provincial level. WHO will continue to support Nepal in addressing public health emergencies and ensuring timely access to life-saving interventions.
