Lalitpur, Bagmati province – The Quality Standards and Regulation Division (QSRD) of the Ministry of Health and Food Safety (MoHFS), and WHO Country Office for Nepal, convened a one-day multisectoral consultation workshop on the Tracking AMR Country Self-Assessment Survey (TrACSS) 2026 on 15 June. Developed jointly by WHO, FAO, WOAH and UNEP, under the One Health framework, TrACSS is a key global tool for monitoring national responses to antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Over 30 representatives from health, animal, food and agriculture, and environment, reviewed Nepal’s progress in implementation of the National Action Plan on AMR. They discussed and compared key findings from Nepal’s 2025 TrACSS report to support completion of the 2026 questionnaire for submission. Following validation of key progress, the QSRD and WHO submitted the final responses to the global TrACSS platform. The consultation also provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements, identify gaps and prioritize actions for strengthening AMR containment efforts. WHO will continue supporting MoHFS in advancing and sustaining Nepal’s AMR response.
