WHO Tobacco Laboratory Network  working group on waterpipe tobacco

The WHO Tobacco Laboratory Network (TobLabNet), a global network of government, academic, and independent laboratories, aims to strengthen national and regional capacity for the testing and research of the contents and emissions of tobacco products. TobLabNet met to discuss waterpipe tobacco in a closed meeting composed of relevant laboratories, waterpipe tobacco experts, and WHO staff from Geneva. The meeting discussed the effects of waterpipe design on its contents and emissions and waterpipe analytical methods, as well as on the applicability of WHO TobLabNet cigarette standard operating procedures to waterpipe tobacco.

The meeting was hosted by Sigmaringen, Chemisches und Veterinäruntersuchungsamt (CVUA Sigmaringen), Germany. CVUA Sigmaringen is a TobLabNet laboratory member.
