This World NTD Day, please join us for a webinar about the need to increase awareness of and investment to end inequality and the poor health outcomes that allow neglected tropical diseases to take hold and devastate too many of the world’s population.
The event will be addressed by the World Health Organization’s Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. We will hear from countries, people affected by NTDs, civil society groups, and NTD partners.
It will cover:
Progress to date on NTDs - including data from the WHO NTD report and country successes
The rationale for investment in NTDs - why investing in NTDs is critical to achieve goals on NTDs, but also helps achieve broader global health and development agendas, including Universal Health Coverage, health systems strengthening, education, and global health security
The Kigali Declaration on NTDs - including the mechanism to mobilise resources to achieve the 2030 targets set in the WHO NTD road map, as well as the launch of a Commitment Tracker for NTDs
