Ninth meeting of the WHO Vector Control Advisory Group

Overview

Experts from the WHO Vector Control Advisory Group (VCAG) and stakeholders convened in Geneva on 12–14 November 2018 for the ninth VCAG meeting. The open session was attended by members of VCAG, applicants and product developers, the WHO Secretariat, and other stakeholders including representatives of donor and procurement agencies. The closed meeting was attended by VCAG members, the WHO Secretariat, VCAG applicants and relevant parties only. This report details the proceedings and outcomes of VCAG’s ninth meeting, which reviewed new evidence on interventions under VCAG review, including: auto-dissemination devices, population reduction: self-limited approach, pyrethroid plus insect growth regulator net (Royal Guard), pyrethroid plus non-pyrethroid insecticide net (Interceptor G2) and the repel and lure strategy for malaria control (push–pull strategy).
