Codex trust fund: country story: Ghana

Overview

This country story outlines the experience of Ghana in implementing their Codex Trust Fund project.  Targeting capacity strengthening in data collection and analysis of methylmercury in tuna fish and inorganic arsenic in rice, the project closed a gap in generating its own data, allowing for more effective participation in the scientific exchange through Codex working groups.  Targeted training of journalists further contributed to awareness raising of the importance of Codex work on issues relevant for Ghana through a more informed media.
