EPI-WIN digest 32 - Developing a dynamic workforce for One Health: WHO approaches and applications

Overview

Although it is well recognized that a multi-sectoral, One Health approach to diseases at the human–animal–environment interface is critical, in reality, operationalizing multisectoral coordination, communication and collaboration to ensure that the workforce can fulfil its functions, can be difficult.  To address this, the Tripartite (WHO, FAO and WOAH) has developed a Workforce Development Operational Tool (WFD OT).  This digest describes the overall approach for workforce development, and introduce the key components of the tool and how it can be used, and how official workforce can be strengthened for more effective One Health operationalization.
