WHO Working Group – Core Protocol for vaccines against COVID-19

Overview

Recognizing the critical importance to world health of the rapid availability and deployment of effective vaccines against COVID-19 the Working Group on the core protocol for vaccines against COVID-19 aims to provide a phase 2b/3 protocol that will enable the concurrent evaluation of the benefits and risks of each promising candidate vaccines. The objectives of this group are to:

• Outline the key aims of the protocol
• Outline the key benefits of the protocol
• Develop a protocol synopsis.
• Develop a core protocol for phase 2b, phase 3 efficacy trials of vaccines against COVID-19.
• Prepare and be available for the regular working group calls.
• Provide technical advice and support the WHO Secretariat through comments and or feedback from stakeholders
