WAAW 2020 Highlights Nepal
This year from our (WHO team) preliminary meetings the target audience was decided as the upstream level audience who are policymakers, professionals of "One Health" sectors, pharmaceutical industries. In addition, the general public, farmers, and students are also covered while conducting activities.

It is the continuation of last year activity. The High-level Political commitment can build up national commitment increase coordination, collaboration and cooperation between the sectors of "One Health" in combatting AMR. From such messages, the general population get acquainted on issues of AMR for their better understanding of the problem.

Expert Panel Discussion of "One Health"
Pandemic situation constricted our ability to conduct in mass gathering, so the program was conducted with virtual participation in zoom and Facebook live. In zoom, more than 80 participants and through FB 2000 participants observed the live program. The event was organized to discuss the issues on global and national perspective on AMR, sectoral expert's view on this year's slogan and theme, issues and challenges in "One Health" approach, gaps in policy implementation, research and development priorities, and role and responsibilities of different sectors and community engagement and sector-specific recommendations in curbing AMR.
Activity on celebrating World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) 2020 at NPHL
On 18th Nov 2020, Wednesday, celebration of WAAW 2020 at the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) through a virtual session with stakeholders. The virtual session was organized in close coordination with NPHL, FHI 360 and WHO with representations from the AMR sites. A total of 30 participants participated in the virtual session from human health and animal health sectors.
