The bi-regional meeting of the National Influenza Centres (NIC) and influenza surveillance was followed by the meeting on 20 August 2021 which reviewed the status of implementation of PIP partnership contribution (PC) supported activities in WHO’s South East Asia (SEAR) and Western Pacific Region (WPR).

In this meeting, the mid-year review of implementation of PIP PC supported activities in 2021 for SEAR and the review of activities of the last 18 months for WPR, helped provide guidance to member countries to plan PIP PC supported activities for 2022–2023 biennium based on key priorities and major shifts identified on the basis of lessons learned from the pandemic response in both regions.
The meeting ended with agreement of two Regional Offices and WHO Country Offices to support PIP priority countries to plan and effectively implement PIP activities in the new biennium ( 2022–2023).
