With the Andavac project, created in 2020 by the Andalusian Strategic Vaccination Plan, it proposes creating a space for dissemination and updated training on vaccines. The fundamental objective is to improve knowledge and confidence in vaccines among health professionals and citizens of Andalusia.

Description of the website

The ‘ANDAVAC: Plan de Vacunaciones de Andalucía’ website is a member of the WHO-led project Vaccine Safety Net (VSN).

Andavac is a project created in 2020 as part of the Vaccination Strategic Plan of the ‘Consejería de Salud y Consumo’ of Andalusia, included within the ‘Dirección General de Salud Pública y Consumo’ of Andalusia, supported by the ‘Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública’. Its fundamental objectives are the training of healthcare professionals and the dissemination of information to the general population in Andalusia regarding all aspects of vaccines, largely relying on digital technology and audiovisual resources. Numerous activities are carried out, such as training courses, communication campaigns on vaccination, or outreach and awareness actions, targeting professionals, the general population, as well as specific groups such as students or individuals with underlying health conditions, along with research projects. All information and activities will be published on this website http://www.andavac.es/. The teaching activity of ANDAVAC, hosted on the Training platform, has already reached over 25,000 healthcare professionals in Andalusia through the Online Vaccine Courses conducted since October 2020. For its development, it relies on leading vaccine trainers from across Andalusia, enrolled through a Train-the-Trainer Program. These courses are online-based, utilizing modern digital technology and audiovisual resources to better adapt to current times and enhance teaching capacity. ANDAVAC is more than a training project. Its intention is also to serve as the primary channel for dynamic and agile official vaccine information for healthcare professionals in Andalusia. To achieve this, it initiates a news and update service via email subscription for professionals to access. The communication tools and resources of ANDAVAC include the website www.andavac.es and dissemination on social media. These channels not only provide comprehensive information about the project and its training activities but also regularly publish news and official vaccination updates. There is a directory of frequently asked questions aimed at making the answers to the most common vaccine-related queries from healthcare professionals in Andalusia publicly available. Another essential resource for professional updates is the organization of scientific meetings, including the annual general Congress of Andavac, as well as workshops and forums for more specific discussions. Other activities of ANDAVAC include designing, developing, and launching vaccination campaigns for the Consejería de Salud y Consumo of Andalusia, as well as promoting its annual recommendations and vaccine research.

Website’s sponsorship policy

The Andavac project is developed independently of the pharmaceutical industry that can support its activities. Andavac is committed to:

• Maintain a relationship with the pharmaceutical industry that is based on evidence and scientific rigor, the interest of health professionals and the population served by the Sistema Sanitario Público de Andalusia.
• Guarantee a collaboration framework based on transparency and communication of agreements, actions and results obtained.
• Do not advertise vaccine brands except in exceptional cases where it is necessary for patient safety.
