Description of the website
The website of the immunization section of the Public Health England is a member of the WHO-led project Vaccine Safety Net (VSN).
This site provides the latest information on vaccines and vaccination procedures in the UK, including:
- factsheets/Q&A/slidesets (now revised and have to be hosted by third party sites – example here);
- vaccine programme delivery and implementation information;
- core guidance documents such as “The Green Book: Immunisation against infectious disease”;
- immunization patient group direction (PGD) templates that can be adopted for programme delivery by local immunization teams;
- newsletters covering developments in the field, new resources, vaccine, programme delivery safety and updates to guidance;
- latest vaccine uptake guidance and statistics;
- minutes of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) meetings;
- joint letters from the Department of Health, Public Health England and NHS England announcing changes to vaccine programmes plus accompanying training slide sets and other resources;
- links to the government’s vaccine ordering and delivery facility;
- childhood and adulthood immunization schedules, algorithms and eligibility information;
- immunization leaflets and guidance for parents, carers’ and patients;
- vaccine handling, delivery, cold chain and protocols;
