On this webpage you can find the reference documents provided for each action. WHO technical units have provided a variety of types of guidance across the listed actions.  Some of the guidance is more clinical or programmatic (it tells the end-user specifically what to do or how to deliver a health action), some guidance is of a more general nature such as programme goals and strategies, and some guidance comes from reference lists such as WHO’s model lists of essential medicines, and the WHO priority assistive products list.  In order to return to the webpage for the UHC Compendium, click here.

*Please note that the filters and visualizations are interactive. If you search for a term in the search bar, all filters are modified. To see the entire compendium again, use the eraser on the right side of the search bar/filters. You may use multiple filters together.

This version of the Compendium is a preliminary draft version for comments and consultation. As such, it presents only limited data and in a limited format. Future versions of the database shall contain additional information.

Under review: Content for a number of interventions and actions is currently being reviewed by WHO subject matter experts or external individuals possessing relevant qualifications and/or experience. The content may be undergoing further revisions or, in some cases, be related to services where WHO guidance has not yet been developed or issued. We anticipate that these entries will be completed in future version updates.

Disclaimer:  WHO does not provide guidelines and reference documents for all potential UHC actions. The content within the Compendium is based on the current guidance from WHO. The intent is to provide an overview of interventions that countries may wish to consider for UHC. The fact that an intervention is listed in the Compendium does not necessarily mean that it is applicable in all settings. Likewise, the fact that an intervention is not currently included in the Compendium does not mean that it is not a worthwhile investment. The Compendium will be updated over time as WHO guidance evolves.
