The WHO "Strategy for optimizing national routine health information systems" aims to strengthen country capacity to enhance health data systems, particularly for primary health care services. The strategy – which is part of the WHO SCORE for Heath Data Technical Package – provides a roadmap for the development of integrated and evidence-informed health information systems, emphasizing five strategic goals and offering measurable interventions to improve health data collection, reporting and analysis at all levels.
Indonesia is among the 164 countries that participated in the first WHO SCORE assessment in 2020, which based on data from 2013–2019, highlighted varying capacities. The new WHO Strategy provides actionable support to policy makers in Indonesia and across the world to improve health care delivery and strengthen monitoring of national and global health targets.
