International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week

Overview
The International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (ILPPW) takes place every year during the third week of October. The year 2022 marks 10 years of action to eliminate lead paint. The focus of this year’s week is “Say no to lead poisoning” and recognizes the additional urgency of action needed to eliminate all sources of lead exposure. Governments, civil society organizations, health partners and others are encouraged to organize campaigns during ILPPW.
This resource list contains key information available from WHO on the health hazards of lead and actions to be taken to prevent harm. It is designed to support organizers of events to be held as part of the International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week.
The WHO has additionally published a toolkit to help supporters and advocates in engaging in the ILPPW and associated social media activities.
