A global research priority setting exercise on the sexual and reproductive health of (very) young adolescents
WHO/HRP in collaboration with partners and stakeholders, is undertaking a research priority setting exercise on the sexual and reproductive health of very young adolescents.
This priority setting exercise will be conducted using established methodologies and using participatory, collaborative, transparent and inclusive processes, allowing for broad expertise and diverse viewpoints to collaboratively inform the expected outcome, namely a priority research agenda.
The research priority setting exercise on the sexual and reproductive health of very young adolescents will convene diverse experts and stakeholders and will build on priorities and recommendations identified in five journal articles which were published in a special supplement of the Journal of Adolescent Health in September 2024.
It is expected that the research priority setting exercise will inform the next generation of studies to address the needs and gaps related to the sexual and reproductive health and rights of very young adolescents and contribute to improved SRHR outcomes.
A research agenda that is developed through a consultative and collaborative process working with practitioners working directly with communities, policy makers, and researchers can help ensure the relevance of the research agenda and that it is taken up by funders and researchers, as well as policy makers and programme implementers.
